10th August – Up Early
Woke up before the alarm today, unheard of for a Sunday. It felt like a perfect morning to wander the garden and think of things for the garden swap. Instead, the rain came down in sheets — the sort of heavy, drumming rain I can feel in my elbows. Most people might have stayed indoors, but I put on my trainers and went out anyway.
The geraniums looked like they’d been through the wash, and the hedge was sulking. Still, there’s something bout the smell of wet earth that makes ideas sprout, even if my socks end up soggy.
