While pinning a row of socks in the breeze, I found myself thinking about Stanley’s garden swap idea again. A geranium for a lavender, a handful of mint for some rosemary — little exchanges stitched together into something bigger. As I reached for another peg, I imagined swapping thoughts the same way: “Here, you take my worry, I’ll have your confidence in return.”
I smiled at the absurdity, but the socks flapped in agreement.
