31st August – Settling Swaps
The swap fever has cooled. Today I wandered past the charity shop and saw our odds and ends tucked neatly on the shelves. They looked at home, as though they’d always belonged there. For the first time in weeks, the village felt settled. People weren’t fretting over who owed what, or which cutting belonged to whom. Instead, there was chatter about recipes, the weather, and whose cat had claimed the sunniest wall.
I went home smiling. Things don’t always need to be swapped or solved; sometimes they just need a quiet corner, a little patience, and the chance to bloom again.
