28th August – Total Triangles
The triangles have multiplied like bindweed. Every fence post, every noticeboard, even the door of the village hall is sprouting promises: courgettes for jam jars, chairs for mint, a flamingo ornament for three scones. It makes me smile, but also sigh.
There are only so many things one can swap before the whole thing topples over. Perhaps it doesn’t need to be this hard. The charity shop in town has been taking things in for years, quietly, without fuss.
Maybe that’s the answer: one place where everything can be gathered, where the choosing happens naturally. I might suggest it.
Not today. But soon.
